GOALKEEPER TRAINING FOR CLUBS
As is widely known, coaching and training goalies is often neglected at every hockey club in the Netherlands. Especially at the youth level, hardly any time or attention is devoted to goalkeeping, with the result that young goalies usually give up after one or two seasons and prefer to “just” play hockey. This jeopardizes the progression of goalkeepers from the youth ranks to the senior teams and ultimately to the Men’s 1 or Women’s 1 teams, leading many clubs to recruit their goalkeepers for top-level hockey (1st or 2nd men’s/women’s teams) from outside the club.
The objective of the ZERO! Academy is, on the one hand, to provide goalkeeper training and mentor young goalkeeping talents at your club, as well as Men’s and Women’s 1 goalkeepers, through theoretical and practical training (and to prepare young goalkeepers for a potential move toward elite hockey), and on the other hand, to provide high-quality training for “in-house” goalkeeper coaches.
The goal of the guidance, training, evaluation, and placement of (youth) hockey goalkeepers and (youth) goalkeeper trainers is to ensure that they feel confident in their role and within their team, that they are challenged to rise above their “normal level” and develop to their full potential, so that they can enjoy the sport of hockey to the fullest and make a significant contribution to the overall quality of youth hockey at your club.
If you want to take your goalkeepers and goalkeeper trainers to the next level, don’t hesitate to contact us.
