CLUB GOALKEEPER TRAINING - Goalkeeper Training for Your Club
Goalkeepers, young or old, are always the odd ones out in a team; they are always among the first to arrive on the field and the last to leave. In addition, a goalkeeper cannot and should not make any mistakes (in the eyes of his/her teammates), while field players make mistakes all the time.
If young goalkeepers are well coached from a relatively young age and taught the finer points of goalkeeping in a playful manner, your club will create a breeding ground for goalkeepers for top-level hockey.
As is well known, coaching and training goalkeepers is a neglected area at every hockey club in the Netherlands. Particularly for young people, hardly any time or attention is devoted to goalkeeping, with the result that young goalkeepers usually give up after one or two seasons and prefer to ‘just’ play hockey. This jeopardizes the progression of goalkeepers from the youth teams to the higher teams and ultimately Men's 1 or Women's 1 which is why many clubs recruit their goalkeepers for top-level hockey (1st or 2nd men's/women's teams) from outside the club.
The objective of ZERO! ACADEMY is, on the one hand, to provide goalkeeper training and coaching for talented young goalkeepers at your club, as well as for Men's and Women's 1 goalkeepers, through theoretical and practical training (and to prepare young goalkeepers for a possible step towards TOP hockey) and, on the other hand, to provide high-quality training for ‘in-house’ goalkeeper coaches.
The goal of the guidance, training, assessment, and placement of (youth) hockey goalkeepers and (youth) goalkeeper coaches is to ensure that they feel confident in their role and their team, that they are challenged to exceed their ‘normal level’ and develop further to their full potential, so that they can enjoy hockey to the fullest and make an important contribution to the overall quality of youth hockey at your club.
If you want to take your goalkeepers and goalkeeper coaches to the next level, don't hesitate to contact us.
